In opposite hemispheres, seasons are reversed. It may be actually mid-winter and not midsummer in the place where you are going. Midsummer is rainy season in tropical areas, teeming with monsoons and tropical storms. Moreover, midsummer may be simply too hot for your comfort, especially if you are going to some place that does not have good air-conditioning.
